Kickboxing is a blended style of western boxing and martial arts and puts them into a competitive aspect. There are different types of Kickboxing that range from Muay Thai (involves knees, elbows, leg kicks and takedowns) to full contact rules(everything above the waist). The conditioning involved in Kickboxing is similar to how a normal boxer trains which involves strength and cardiovascular training. Kickboxing usually takes place in a ring and can be a dangerous if not practiced properly.

Some good core basics in Kickboxing are:

Hand Techniques: jabs, crosses, hooks and uppercuts, if these are done in different combinations can be very effective.
Leg Techniques: push kicks, roundhouse, thai kicks to the legs and spinning back kicks are good because the can help close the gap for you hand techniques.

when these are put together and drilled properly, they can make you someone to be delt with.
